Police seized thousands of grams of drugs at Leeds Festival weekend

Police have revealed that thousands of grams of illegal drugs were seized at this year’s Leeds Festival weekend.

A total of 1,257 grams of various substances and 461 pills were found on revellers.

A total of 39 drug-related arrests were made at the August Bank Holiday bash, 13 of which were for possession of illegal drugs with the intent to supply.

Abandoned tents from Leeds Festival to be made into clothing

Owners of a sustainable fashion boutique, Trad Collective in Headingley, are turning abandoned tents from Leeds Festival into clothing and accessories.

Their aim is to give new life to discarded festival gear.

In the aftermath of the annual bash held at Bramham Park, hundreds of tents, along with clothing, sleeping bags, and various camping gear were left behind.

James Fenwick and Josefin Wanner, owners of Trad Collective, have embarked on an upcycling mission, repurposing the salvaged materials to prevent them from ending up in landfill sites across the country.

Leeds Festival 2023 cleaners ‘utterly appalled’ by weekend trash

Cleaners at Leeds Festival 2023 said they were “utterly appalled” by the left-over tents, camping equipment and trash.

The bash, which took place between 25 August to 27 August saw over 90,000 revellers descend on Bramham park, leaving behind an unprecedented amount of waste.

Clean-up crews were deployed after the festival finished to attempt to ‘salvage tents and equipment for a refugee charity’.
